PSYCHOLOGICAL MOMENTUM | THE MENTAL PHENOMENON
Psychological momentum is defined by researchers as a perceptual phenomenon that changes human behavior and performance. It is experienced as a psychological force in which several factors or qualities converge in a synergistic way to enable one to perform at a level not ordinarily possible.
You all must have entered the zone of mental momentum at some point of time where you were constantly thinking and planning about your goal. Where you were so focused that it didn’t matter whether you were performing a task or hitting the bed, your mind was continuously moving in direction to achieve that one goal. I call it the zone of bliss or the positive hypnotic trance.
If you succeed in triggering the psychological momentum, you can attain a series of successes in a limited period of time.
Psychological Momentum Liquefiers
What kills the momentum? Unless we know our enemy, we can not prepare ourselves to fight. There’s nothing like fear that dissolves the momentum and throws you off balance. The key to bulldoze through it, is to understand that the obstacles are the limiting beliefs that we have set, knowingly or unknowingly. With the positive attitude and perseverance, you can make your way right through it provided you have that strong desire to make it till the end.
Martin Luther King Jr. said, If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.
Once you step out of psychological momentum because of momentum killers, you tend to fall into the void of despair. The darkness grips your self-esteem and rips your self-worth. If you are not conscious enough or are not associated with the right people, you will fade away into the dark abyss and it will take forever to come out of it.
These are the times when you should surround yourself with people who makes you feel like a million bucks. Reminding yourself of your past achievements also plays a significant role.
If you can do it once, you undoubtedly can do it again!
